Important dates/events for the remainder of 2008 Academic Year

Congratulations 8th grade students! You have made it to the final 2 weeks of school!

Per discussions among administration and teachers, class will remain academic in nature until Friday, June 6th.
The following are some important dates:

Wed. May 28th: Students finish Civil War memorial quilts in the media center. Due at end of class.

Thurs. May 29th: Final Lit Circle meetings. Role sheets and discussion. Books should be completed.

Friday May, 30th: Half Day schedule for Talent Show (at JHHS). Quilts are constructed (put together) for each class. Students will present/teach their topic for a grade.

Monday: June 2nd: In class review of final essay questions. Students prepare their answers in small groups. Any students who didn't present on Friday will finish.

Tuesday June 3rd: Students from Mr. Yazz' classes and Wells' classes join and present activities and skits they made in lit circles. A final sharing of new knowledge from Civil War Novels

Wed. June 4th - Final Essay Test - Civil War - This is a TCSD1 Standard related to their novels. Students have had their questions for over a week and need to come prepared. Use of notes is not allowed. Students' very best writing is expected.

Thursday: My classes help burn Talent Show DVDs for sale.
