Students with artist in residence -- Indian Arts Museum, Colter Bay.
Students participated in four rotated presentations at the museum with, as many students have commented, a strongly entertaining and effective staff of curators and rangers. Rotations included a museum exhibit talk on Plains/Great Basin Indian utility in art; a bear awareness presentation; a natural history walk; a talk with and American Indian ranger on the importance and function of the Tee pee in the lives of Shoshones.
All students gathered for a talk and musical performance by the museum's artist in residence. This week we are anticipating the start of the American Indian Research Project.
