Week of 3/16

Announcements:

Wed-Friday this week, students will be taking the reading portion of the PAWS assessment. This assessment is used by teachers to develop appropriate material and lessons for students. The federal government uses the data, in part to establish AYP - annual yearly progress, which can affect school funding.

Congrats students on an excellent 1st formal debate on Thursday and Friday!!


Agenda:

Monday - Today 4th and 7th periods meet in US History, but for double blocks. (3rd and 5th do not meet today).
This class is a repeat of 3rd and 5th's lesson from Thursday:
1. Innovation and Big Business - Fun Video Quiz - Winner get in the raffle!
Ford, Edison and Rockefeller
2. Rubric Review - We look at guidlines and grading rubric for Invention Presentations
3. Students are writing, drafting and preparing presentations for the Invention Project.
4. Read-Aloud - "Electricity"

Tuesday -
1. Quick smartboard warm-up on Patent and Trade, and Rockefeller, Ford, Edison information.
2. Students will continue to write, draft and prepare presentations for their Invention Projects.
3. Student News!

Wed-Friday
Students are assessed on their reading and comprehension skills on the PAWS tests.
Classes will alternate days, but come to class for double-blocks. Please eat well and get lots of rest:)
