Week of November 2nd

Announcements:

**Quarterly Recognition was a big success on Friday. You deserved it!

**Parent-Teacher conferences are this Tues/Wed from 3pm-6:45pm. Students should have signed-up for a meeting-time, if desired, with their home base teachers.

** There is no school on Friday, Nov. 6th.

** There will be a student-council sponsored dance on November 13th in the middle school commons from 7-9pm. Entry is $2.00.

** The 2nd Academic Quarter begins on Monday.

Agenda:

Monday:
1. We revisit the results of our quality of life indicators state comparison activity from Friday.
2. Begin compare and contrast: Jamestown - Plymouth - Motivations, successes and governments. We create the skeleton of a comparison foldable.
3. Student Play: Select parts and pre-read:

HW: Complete Jamestown section of comparison foldable for tomorrow. Use pages 70-73 in our text as a resource.

Tuesday:

1. HW Check
2. Dawning of a New World - A time-line of early American colonization.
3. Perform student play - Jamestown!

Wednesday:

1. United Streaming clip: Myth Busters - The Truth about Plymouth Rock.
2. Continue Comparison with reading on Plymouth - Saints and Strangers.
HW: Complete comparison foldable: Use pages 76-79 in the text as a resource.

Thursday:
1. Quiz: Jamestown/Plymouth Comparison.
2. Current Event: International Quality of Life Index - A comparison of life expectancy, literacy, GDP, and the human development index (HDI) amongst the world's 195 recognized nations.
