Announcements:
**Tuesday night at 5:30 there will be a parent outreach event at JHMS titled "Safe and Responsible Use of Technology".
** We had a great visit on Friday by the JH Historical Society. Many students made personal connections to local history.
** Spelling Bee will be held on Wednesday morning in the gym!
Weekly Agenda:
Monday:
1. We revisit student notes and observations from the Historical Society visit on Friday.
2. Students will sign up for a theme and topic for the Westward Expansion Newspaper project.
3. Update on Current Events in Egypt - Student News
4. 20 minutes for final debate research!
Tuesday-Thursday:
We will be in the media center researching for the Westward Expansion Newspaper Project. Students will be getting mini-lessons on Microsoft Publisher layout, new subscription databases and research norms and expectations.
Due Friday at the start of class: Research notes and citations: 2 non-internet and 2 internet sources required.
Friday:
1. Brief Westward Expansion Timeline Quiz
2. Student debates! Debates will be researched-based, Lincoln-Douglas style used by the JHHS Speech and Debate team.
