First week of the New Year!




Welcome back from break! I hope you had a fun and relaxing holiday break. January 11th is the end of Quarter 2, so please check power school.  There will be a quiz on Friday the 4th and a summative assessment on the 10th. The content of the quiz and final assessment will be causes and perspectives of the American Revolution in addition to a short analysis of the Declaration of Independence as a founding document.

Monday:
Winter Break
Tuesday:
New Year’s Day!

Wednesday:
  1. What did we notice and what are we wondering about the movie Lincoln, which we saw the day before break?
  2. Q2 reflection and goal setting in US History Class – Each student will reflect on their performance in History class and set achievable goals for the final week of Q2 and Q3.
  3.  Revisit and solidify pre-break content with a chain conversation activity– The Causes of the Revolution.

Thursday:
1.    Begin reading/research for Perspectives on the American Revolution debate, which will be held the final day of the quarter next week.
2.    Review game for a brief quiz tomorrow: Events leading to the American Revolution.
HW: Study your organizer and S.I.G.H. notes for tomorrow’s quiz!

Friday:
1.     Quiz – Events leading to the American Revolution: Matching and short response.
2.     Continue reading/research for next week’s debates. Today we’ll look at one Loyalist’s position.
