Monday:

Current Events update - Supreme Court nominee process. What is in the Constitution and what to expect.
Class Notes: The Civil War Amendments: What is Legal Equality?


Tuesday:
Civil War Lit. Circle Discussion Days: By now most groups have begun to be much more autonomous. They need to have read the assigned pages for their specific novel and to have completed their pre-selected role tasks. Be ready for discussion!

Wednesday:

Today there is a brief, open-notebook quiz: Civil War Draft Riots, Emancipation, Black Soldiers and the Civil War Amendments.
Then - Student Play! "The Last Best Hope"

Thursday:

Literature Circle Activity Day: Students select and complete a small task, creating a variety of products to present to their groups. Students get new reading assignments and roles for next Tuesday.


Friday:
Finish final run of student play.
We introduce the ideas and format of the final US History Standard - This will be on Tuesday June, 2. Students will have to make connections to the Civil War and their own lives using material gleaned from Literature Circles - Essay format.
