Week of May 26th

Welcome back from the 3 day weekend. Hopefully everyone had fun and also reflected a little on the meaning of Memorial Day and the "ultimate sacrifice", in Lincoln's words, that all fallen US Vets have made.

Announcement: Final US History Essay Standard on Monday, June 1st. Students will be receiving a bank of essay questions on Wednesday.

Tuesday:

MAPS Testing will happen during History Class today - This is a reading comprehension test that will be compared to a similar assessment they took in the Fall.

Wednesday:
Last Literature Circle Discussion Day: Student led discussion on last 1/4 of lit. circle novels.

Also: All students get Final Exam Essay questions to begin preparation of quotes and responses. This test will be given on Monday, June 1st. Students may bring their lit. circle novel and one 5*7 notecard with prepared quotes or details.

Thursday:
Final Essay Test Preparation: Students will be developing outlines and preparing supporting quotes for their essays.
(Cold Mountain Lit. Circles will meet today to prepare presentations for tomorrow).

Friday:
Final day of Literature Circles: All groups meet in one room and present songs, poems, games and other learning activities. Students teach each other and share their novel details with other groups.
