** The end of the second academic quarter is this week - Friday the 15th.
** Quarterly Recognition will be Winter Carnival. We'll be doing this on Friday the 22nd.
** 8th Grade Geography Bee participants - Monday morning, 1st period, room 101.
Agenda:
Monday:
1. Each class has 2-3 Family Tree presentations remaining. These will be completed first.
2. Three Branches of Government - We trace each branch to the first 3 articles of the Constitution, and create our own visual organizers.
3. Articles I-VII - complete and go over as a class.

Tuesday:

2. Scavenger Hunt! Students get into the nitty-gritty Constitutional details, competing as teams using several primary and secondary sources. Winning teams will work well cooperatively.
Wednesday:
1. The Executive Branch up close - The office of President has changed and grown throughout US History - We examine expanded powers and Cabinet departments.
2. Review for quiz on Thursday: Articles I-VII and 3 branches of government details.
Thursday:
1. Quiz - Articles I-IV, 3 Branches details
2. Begin Bill of Rights foldables
Friday:
1. "Bill of Rights Repealed" - A theoretical look at what might happen to US society without Constitutional protections, by the Discovery Learning network. Students will later be writing and performing skits using ideas from these video clips.
2. Continue working on Bill of Rights foldables.
