Weekly Agenda:

Monday:
Mr. Wells will be at a Greater Yellowstone American History Project grant (GYAHP) activity today.
1. Introduction of American Indian Short Story project expectations and parameters.
2. Students will be read aloud "Code Talker" a model short story and will move into small groups with Literacy Coach Michelle Rooks, Librarian Ms. Swiggum, History Teacher Mr. Yazzolino and ELL Teacher Mrs. Fitz. The groups are based on students' progress with selecting and developing a research topic.

Tuesday:
1. Students will divide into the same groups as yesterday and browse in guided fashion the extensive media center non-fiction American Indian collection. Some students will be beginning research, while others will still be searching for a topic that is both fascinating and narrow enough with which to craft a piece of historical fiction.
2. More examples and modeling of short story form and content will be shared and demonstrated.

Wednesday:
Today's class will be divided in two parts:
1. Brief small group read-aloud and United Steaming Clip: A policy of Indian relocation.
2. Student Play: The Trail Of Tears.

Thursday:
We are in the media center today. There will be a brief refresher course in vetted and reliable online resources after which students will be involved with research, note-taking and citation towards their American story research project.
HW for Friday: Students should bring in a minimum of 2 sets of resource notes w citation attached.

Friday:
