Announcements:
January 14th is the end of quarter 2. Please check powerschool for missing assignments. Missing assignments may be handed in as late as January 7th.
Revolutionary War Short Essays were graded over break and have been entered into powerschool.
Weekly Agenda:
Monday: Literacy facilitator Mrs. Rooks will be helping students reflect on their Q2 goals set 7 weeks ago. Students will be comparing the US Constitution's Preamble with the JHMS Vision Statement and our own class mission statement as they draft their own personal mission statements. Parents will see these and student self-assessments regarding their goals at conferences next month.
Tuesday:
1. Check/Share HW: family interviews conducted over break.
2. Review directions and rubric for the family tree/immigration project.
3. Students will see a dozen examples of projects from the previous years' classes and rate them according to the rubric.
4. Students get a chance to begin genealogical displays in class.
HW: Continue to work on genealogical displays at home!
Wednesday:
1. SIGHT document analysis: Immigration Charts Comparison
2. Students will use the remainder of class to work on their genealogical displays and preparing their presentation.
HW: Finish genealogical presentations and be prepared to present tomorrow!
Thursday:
1. Gallery Walk: Students browse and analyze historical immigration images.
2. First half of genealogical presentations.
Friday:
1. Second half of genealogical presentations.
2. Begin US Constitution study: Preamble Scramble!
