Week of January 24th

Welcome back!

Announcements:
Students will be taking the US Constitution Standard on Friday - This will include information from the 3 branches quiz, the amendment quiz, the Supreme Court case studies and the scavenger hunt activity.

Weekly Agenda:


Monday:
1. Students work in groups, reading/analyzing 6 Supreme Court Cases that affect teens in schools.
2. Groups create gallery walk posters.
3. Begin gallery walk note-taking.

Tuesday:
1. Groups finish Supreme Court gallery walk activity.
2. Amendment Skit groups complete and practice skits.
3. Amendment charade game!
HW: Be prepared for tomorrow's quiz! The Bill of Rights plus any other 3 amendments that students feel are important to their lives.

Wednesday:

1. Quick review game - The Bill of Rights
2. Amendment Quiz
3. Final discussion and wrap-up Supreme Court Cases.

Thursday:
1. Today is a review day of all of the components that go into the US Constitution Standard assessment: Three Branches details; Articles I, II, III info; Amendments and Supreme Court cases.
2. Students will see their essay choices for the assessment and will begin to create simple outlines. Students may bring a basic outline for their in-class essays tomorrow.

Friday:
Students demonstrate their knowledge on the US Constitution Standard.
Goal: 100% of students proficient or advanced on this standard!
