Week of May 16th

Welcome back from the sunny weekend!

**We are now in our final week of Civil War lit. circles.
** Final US History essay test will take place next Wednesday, May 25th. Students will be working on outlines early next week.


Agenda:

Monday:
1. Finish Humanitarian Aspects of Civil War readings/share-outs from last week.
2. Comparison: Emancipation Proclamation and the 13th Amendment.

HW: Lit. Circle reading/roles for tomorrow.

Tuesday:
Final Lit. Circle discussion day. Students finish novels and bring in prepared roles for guided discussion.

Wednesday:
1. The Gettysburg Address: The 3 minute dedication that brought meaning to the War and to the American experiment of democracy. Students will be analyzing and creating their own, paraphrased versions.

Thursday:
Final Lit. Circle meeting! Today groups will finalize their response to literature products for presentation to all groups in our celebration tomorrow.

Friday:

Lit. Circle celebration!! All groups meet in one room. They will be presenting skits, poems, songs and other products made over the last few weeks
