1. Geography Quiz – Eastern Seaboard States (Postponed from Friday).
2. American Indian Geo-Cultural Regions – How were pre-contact societies influenced by their climate and geography?  Text/maps p. 30-33
1. Finish geo-cultural map and comparison.

2. A look at the local: Sheep Eater Band of Shoshone – We’ll focus on how this small, largely undisturbed (until Yellowstone) band adapted to their climate and geography.  We’ll use primary photos and accounts from the JH Historical Society as well as a locally made movie.

1. Columbian Exchange! With Euro-exploration came an unprecedented exchange of flora, fauna, disease, language and ideas.
2. We’ll use the SIGH method of historical image analysis to examine the famous painting of Columbus’ first steps in the Americas. This image hangs in our nation’s capitol rotunda.
1. We’ll look for author’s bias as we read from A Young People’s History, on Columbus’ years on the Island of Hispañola through the eyes of Catholic priest De Las Casas.
1. Finish reading and discussion from yesterday.
