1. Technology Skills Proficiency Pretest – All Wyoming 8th graders are doing this assessment at the start and finish of the year.

2. We’ll finish our Indian Mascot Debates from Friday, with an emphasis on the Lincoln-Douglas format.

1.  Launch of our Historical Fiction Storybook Unit. Using our Navajo Code-Talkers book as a model, students will examine examples from previous years and choose a research topic related to American Indians within US History.

1. In the Media Center Intro to 8th grade research – Building on previous years, students will practice creating an annotated bibliography in MLA format using the noodletools online platform.  We’ll also address note-taking style and organization.
1.  Research begins in earnest today. We’ll be in the classroom with laptops using online databases.
1.  Media Center Research Day – We’ll focus on print resources to take advantage of our media center’s rich non-fiction collections.  Each student will conference with Mr. Wells or Ms. Swiggum to evaluate progress and organization.
