1. Research – iMac
Lab – Having focused last week on online subscription databases, we’ll be
focusing on open-web searches and resources. Students will be learning how to
evaluate online resources for reliability and accuracy.

1. Media Center
Research: Students will be encouraged to use the library’s excellent
non-fiction collection on days that we’re in the media center. We’ll focus on how to most efficiently
access information from a variety of non-fiction resources.

1. Research day iMac
lab. Students will also be asked to begin a character sketch of their
historical fiction’s protagonist.
|
1. Final research
day - media center. Students will
be conferencing with Mr. Wells today and tomorrow to show their research.
Student researched will be assessed for depth, organization and variety of
source types.

1. Character Sketch
– Students will do a quick writing exercise to build detail on their
protagonist and the struggles they will face.
2. Plot Summary
– Students will then begin to use their research details to develop and
interesting plot in which a protagonist faces conflict.
