Greetings, this week kicks off the official start to Literature Circle Group Meetings:
Monday:
Lincoln-Douglass Debates -- Analyzing perspectives from the Greatest Debates in our History. We are working on getting the HS debate team to practice this debate for us later this month - This is one of their selected debates for the Spring competition.
Tuesday: Students come to class for role-call and then break up into literature circle groups. (We did an anticipatory activity on Friday). Roles of the circles established and students begin self-directed roles withing groups.
Wednesday: Clicker activity to reinforce reading on Women Spies of the Civil War!
Thursday: Lit. Circles! Students chose an activity from a tic-tac-toe list and complete it in class. Depending on the novel, students will be doing a variety of activities related to thematics, characters, vocabulary and primary document history.
Friday: Quiz - Name Identification: Abolitionists, Spies and Leaders in the early Civil War.
HW: Read and do role sheets for Tuesday's meeting.
