First Week of School!
Welcome Back! Get ready for an exciting year of learning and growth. You will leave this course with a firm understanding of the rights and responsibilities of a US Citizen in the 21st Century.
Agenda
Wednesday, September 1st:
1. Welcomes and Greetings
2. Survey - Your prior knowledge and expectations. Also: Students create a survey for Mr. Wells!
3. Team building exercise - Tower Building
HW: Interview parents or grandparents about your ancestry/heritage.
Thursday, September 2nd:
1. Review of course norms and expectations
2. Ancestry map activity - small groups present out to the whole class.
HW: Bring in signed CEF forms.
Friday:
1. Students brainstorm to establish class norms.
2. Paleo-Indians - Who were the first Americans and where did they come from?
3. Current Event #1 - Time Magazine - Competing theories on how and when Paleo-Indians arrived in America.
