Week of October 17th

Greetings! We are creating well-researched, historical fiction storybooks!
We are completing rough drafts, revising and editing for a final draft this week. Also, pARTners will be coming in to help students illustrate their books. Students will need to do some out-of-class writing this week to make net Tuesday’s final due-date.

Monday: HW Check: Students needed to do 30 minutes of writing towards their rough drafts this weekend. Class will be a writing workshop. Students will be asked to print and turn in their rough drafts for teacher edits today.

Tuesday: Periods 3&4 – National History Day Presentation with Mrs. Brumsted and JHHS students.
Periods 6&7 - These students will get their rough drafts with suggestions back. They will complete and receive one peer edit today and begin making revisions and edits towards their final drafts. STUDENTS SHOULD BE WORKING ON EDITS AND REVISIONS OUT OF CLASS 20-30 MINUTES PER DAY.

HW: Students should bring in any materials that the school does not have, and they would like to use for illustrating our storybooks during the next two days. Example: bare books, special markers, and any special types of paper beyond construction or printer paper.


Thursday: Students will be illustrating their historical fiction storybooks with pARTners guest artists!


Friday: Students will be illustrating their historical fiction storybooks with pARTners guest artists!
