We will be organizing our textual evidence in preparation for our formal fishbowl discussion in Wednesday and in-class essay on Thursday.  Students will be in small groups based on Thinking Like Historians categories.

Debate Research Continued:
Our next Lincoln-Douglas forum debate is next Tuesday. Today we will be using print and electronic articles to gather evidence on our debate topic: The balance of individual privacy and liberty versus security.
Formal Discussion:  Students will need to come prepared with organized textual evidence and questions. Thinking Like Historian teams will participate in a formal fishbowl discussion. The goal is to expand knowledge on the topic while preparing for tomorrow’s written assessment.
In-class essay assessment.
Students will choose one of 3 essay choices and respond using textual evidence from our readings on the Anne Hutchinson Trial and Salem Witch Trials.  Students will be making historical and modern connections around the theme of Puritan intolerance.
School Resource Officer Charlie Wharton will be co-teaching today’s class on the 50th anniversary of President Kennedy’s assassination.
HW Due Thursday:
JFK assassination reading for Friday’s class. Students choose 1 of 3 articles based on their level of prior knowledge.  In comp. notebooks, write a discussion question for our guest speaker after you do the reading.  Question will be checked on Thursday.

HW Due Today:  Have your JFK discussion question prepared for class today. You will need to turn it in for HW credit.
