Day –
We will be organizing our textual evidence in preparation
for our formal fishbowl discussion in Wednesday and in-class essay on
Thursday. Students will be in small
groups based on Thinking Like Historians categories.

Debate Research
Continued:
Our next Lincoln-Douglas forum debate is next Tuesday.
Today we will be using print and electronic articles to gather evidence on
our debate topic: The balance of
individual privacy and liberty versus security.

Formal Discussion: Students will need to come prepared with
organized textual evidence and questions. Thinking Like Historian teams will
participate in a formal fishbowl discussion. The goal is to expand knowledge on
the topic while preparing for tomorrow’s written assessment.

In-class essay
assessment.
Students will choose one of 3 essay choices and respond
using textual evidence from our readings on the Anne Hutchinson Trial and
Salem Witch Trials. Students will be
making historical and modern connections around the theme of Puritan intolerance.

Officer Charlie Wharton will be co-teaching today’s class on the 50th
anniversary of President Kennedy’s assassination.

HW Due Thursday:
JFK assassination reading for Friday’s class. Students choose
1 of 3 articles based on their level of prior knowledge. In comp. notebooks, write a discussion
question for our guest speaker after you do the reading. Question will be checked on Thursday.
